Zen Bloom was made for the 2018 Mega Health Jam using the Occulus VR system and a DDR Dance Pad. It was designed as a serious game in order to help victims of physical trauma complete range of motion exercises. It received 2nd Place and was featured in the Orlando Medical News
The game was built using animation splines. As players completed and held poses, their garden would begin to shape. We simulated this with a pre-made environment and end result but conceived a version with procedural generation based on player's interests.
We hoped to tackle the problem of retention among physical therapy patients. Often these exercises lose interest from patients and our proof of concept envisioned an environment where each of these experiences could be unique and interesting.
